exclusively from New Zealand

I spent 2 weeks in New Zealand in November..it was pretty awesome and summer time. I have lot of family that live there. They are super cool, and pure Kiwis...
Grandpa Kaye and Shady Lady

Grandma Anna

Cousin Rosie

Cousin Isi

Aunt Sally

Uncle Simon

Uncle Patrick

Shep

And New Zealand has delicious food that we dont have too, like the most delicious lamb sausages, and mince pies, and Vegemite...
(salty spread, used like peanut butter, but tastes like salty butter. not to be used with jelly, but definitely on toast)

And there are HUGE ROSES like you have never seen before because the climate is so perfect...

I can't wait to go back...

Ode to SLO

YAY, I have some blog worthy news!
I put my 2-weeks in and am making my move!

I am moving back to San Luis Obispo
to be near Michelle, Chris and my little bro.

I got a new job at the Seacrest Resort,
I am a little sad to leave the Hotel Nikko for sure.

I will leave the big city to something more pretty,
and I want to get a puppy, but not a kitty.

I will go back to school for my MBA someday,
but first I will take some time to play.

I will find a place in Los Osos near the beach,
with all my friends within a close reach.

And a surfer husband would be cool too.
We will have to wait to see what ensues... ;)

Sammy the Dog

Our dog Sammy is so cute, but he is getting old these days.
He is 14 years old and his little hips and back legs are hurting him,
they sometimes give out on him and he falls down. :(

It's probably from him jumping 6 feet in the air to bite the snow coming out of my dad's snowblower. It's Sammy's favorite past-time.
And swimming in the beaver creek behind our house.
He loves to take walks and pee on everything.

Poochamer is his nickname.I love Sammy.

Reverend Nikki Returns

My Priesthood will continue this year when I will officiate weddings for
2 sets of my friends!!

The 1st wedding is for Dara and Devin, who I met in college,
and actually kinda introduced to each other! They will get married on October 2nd in
Los Osos at a adorable little bed and breakfast on the bay.
This is the place that Michelle and Chris also live, and I also aspire to live very soon (as soon as I get a job down there). It's about 10 minutes from San Luis Obispo...

The 2nd wedding is for my Brazilian friends Giselle and Edmir who I met when I was living in LA about 6 years ago. We worked together at a french restaurant in Long Beach with a crazy french owner and slutty wife, and were all roommates after that too! (not the french guy or his wife)

Their wedding is on October 16th, and I am sooooo excited about this one - they are having the party at the Santa Monica Pier and rented the whole carousel building!!

Their invitations are really cute too...Giselle is so creative.

One of my friends suggested I dress up in something special for this one, since it's kind of themed. So, I considered being the bearded lady, but I am not sure Giselle would appreciate that. BUT, I know Ed would!! Maybe I will go as the horse back riding girl...

I can't wait to post pictures of both of these great celebrations for you to see!!

Baby Gear

So many people I know are having babies this year!
I guess it's about that time...
I embroidered these cute onesies for my friends and their soon to arrive bundles of JOY!

These 3 are for me and Michelle's old college roommate Leslie, and her new husband Dan.
They will name their little girl Ella (elanor) Ann Blomquist.
She is due October 24.
These are for my work friend Yuko and her husband Can.
They are Japanese and Turkish - this little boy will be VERY CUTE.
They are thinking of naming him Deniz Sora, but haven't decided yet.
(deniz means Sea in turkish, and sora means Sky in Japanese)
He is due September 4.

These are for my last assistant Kristine and her fiancee Ervin.
The only problem is, I was so sure it was going to be a BOY, but I guess now it's a GIRL!!
So I think I will give these to Yuko and make new girly ones for Kristine.
They are fighting between the names Mikalya and Johanna. (I like Mikayla)
She is due November 12.

I LOVE BABIES! :)

I want one too.

City Sale

Alexis and I had a garage sale this weekend.
We have a HUGE garage in our house, and it is FULL of STUFF.
To be honest, not much of the stuff is mine. Alexis likes to keep EVERYTHING.
We made a deal that whatever came out of the garage for the sale would not go back in.
We filled the entire driveway with THE stuff...

The coolest thing we had for sale was a old school scooter that Alexis used to drive around at Harvard. It hasn't run since 2006...

We sold it for $50 to the Harley Davidson guy that lives next door.
We can't wait to see it zipping up and down the street with a 300 pound biker with a ponytail on it.

The coolest thing we did NOT sell was this shirt. It was Alexis' grandma's...
I wish it was my size and I would have kept it.

We had books...

and toys...

and highly technical electronics... Fax machine, VCR, boombox anyone???

and CLOTHES...lots and lots of clothes...I think those are Erin's Prom dresses next to the graduation gowns...

At the end of the day, we sold:

2 Books

1 Supersoaker

2 Tonka Trucks

1 Rolling Cot

1 Poster Frame

1 Set of Luggage (3 pieces of course)

and 1 Sweet Scooter

We made $91.50!

Jackpot, baby.

We gave 5 bags of clothes to the nice Mexican neighbors across the street, Gratis.
We took 17 bags to the Goodwill.
and the other neighbor just happened to be taking a load to the dump.

Happy Cleaning and good Neighbors
I guess one person's junk is always another person's treasure.
According to Alexis though, it's ALL Treasure :)

Light a match.com...online dating is so shitty!

Hey gals -
I made this blog for you because I always look at your blogs and you said you wanted me to do one too.
So here it is.
My most Boring Blog ever. :)

So, I have recently started online dating on Match.com.
It is the most lame experience I have ever had, ever.
I try to make the most of it, and "wink" at guys everyday.
I cannot get a response back for the life of me.
And sometimes, they "reject" my "wink" and I get an email that says "such and such thanks you for your interest, but thinks you're not right for them" or something like that.
Aka, 'I think you're ugly.'
Oh ok, thanks. So nice of you to let me know.

I was supposed to go meet this one guy in San Luis Obispo over 4th of July weekend, BUT then this text went down:

Guy: what are you up to today?
Me: doing some work in the garden and enjoying this nice weather
Guy: i didn't know girls could work in the garden
Me: well i must be really talented then :)
Guy: no not talented...i meant that girls do all the inside housework.

I didn't respond and haven't heard back since.
Online dating is the most ridiculous thing ever invented...and you have to pay for it.
